Palomar, a rapidly growing insurer, is hiring a Manager, Corporate Accounting in La Jolla, CA (remote options available). You will lead the corporate accounting team, drive full-cycle close, implement SOX controls, and collaborate with external auditors in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
• SOX knowledge/experience required for documentation of internal controls.
• Extensive accounting software experience.
• Ability to organize and manage with deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Full Cycle and Analysis of Accounting process and procedures.
• Prepare or approve month-end journal entries.
• Monthly division/program income statement trend review and budget variance analysis.
• Monthly preparation of complex premium and/or claim bordereaux analysis.
• Manage GL reconciliations and schedules.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
• Assist in SOX compliance and year-end audits.
