Job summary

The Vanguard Group is seeking a high-impact accounting professional to own key general ledger activities and partner with FP&A and Corporate Financial Reporting. You will ensure accurate, compliant financial results used for strategic decisions, regulatory reporting, and investor communications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ related business experience; financial accounting experience preferred.
• Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA preferred.
• CPA preferred and experience with corporate close processes.

Responsibilities

• Execute corporate accounting close activities for assigned areas and post journal entries.
• Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations and review for accuracy and compliance.
• Help prepare monthly results for management and assist external audits.

Job description

This is a high-impact accounting role that sits at the center of Vanguard’s financial reporting ecosystem. You'll own key aspects of the general ledger and partner closely with FP&A, Corporate Financial Reporting, and global business partners to ensure financial results are accurate, compliant, and used to support critical business decisions, regulatory reporting, and strategic investments.

Responsibilities

• Executes all corporate accounting close activities for assigned functional areas. Prepares monthly general ledger account reconciliations and reviews, approves, and posts journal entries. Reviews team's work for accuracy and compliance.
• Responsible for processes around analysis of domestic and international business operations and obligations to ensure accurate recording of financial position. Assists in the preparation and communication of monthly financial results to management.
• Identifies issues independently. Leads efforts to research issues, develop recommendations, resolve complex issues, and implement changes.
• Designs, recommends, and implements internal control procedures that ensure proper recording and reporting of financial position and prevent significant errors in accounting records.
• Prepares and produces monthly reports required by the senior management and regulators. Support external auditors during annual audit.
• Coaches and provides training to temporary administrators to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ related business experience. Financial accounting experience preferred.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Finance or Accounting degree preferred.
• CPA preferred.
