Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group is seeking a Corporate Accountant to join our accounting team in the Washington, DC area. The role maintains general ledger integrity, supports month-end close, and prepares financial reports.

The ideal candidate will be analytical, organized, and capable of handling multiple priorities while ensuring GAAP compliance and adherence to company policies. CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
• Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records and accounting transactions.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciling items.
• Analyze financial data and prepare management reporting packages.
• Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policies.
• Partner with cross-functional departments to support business initiatives.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Participate in special projects and other accounting-related duties.
