Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas is seeking a Corporate Accountant to lead financial reporting, fixed assets and leases under ASC 842, and consolidation accounting. You will liaise with outsourced tax services, auditors, and risk management while promoting strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate will have a background in a global manufacturing environment, with proven proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Excel.

Qualifications

  • Degree in accounting/finance required; CPA preferred.
  • Experience with US GAAP and consolidations is essential.
  • Proficiency with Dynamics 365 and consolidation/reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Consolidation Accounting.
  • Assist in consolidation of financial statements under US GAAP.
  • Maintain fixed asset and lease subledgers in Dynamics 365.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Coordinate with subsidiaries on reporting policies.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax services and risk management.

Summary Description

The Corporate Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting, managing the accounting of fixed assets and the accounting for leases (ASC 842), consolidation accounting, technical accounting research, and maintaining strong internal controls. This position will act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners, including outsourced tax services, external auditors, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a complex, global manufacturing environment, with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Microsoft Excel.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Financial Reporting & Consolidation Accounting
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset and lease subledger in Dynamics 365, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to the parent corporation.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including consolidations and intercompany eliminations.
  • Coordinate with subsidiaries to ensure consistent accounting policies and reporting.
Technical Accounting & Compliance
  • Research and analyze complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance on accounting policies and implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of white papers and technical accounting memos.
Audit & Internal Controls
  • Serve as a key liaison for external auditors, ensuring timely completion of annual audits.
  • Support internal financial controls and implement best practices to enhance financial accuracy.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to strengthen governance and risk management frameworks.
Tax & Risk Management Liaison
  • Act as the primary point of contact for outsourced tax service providers, ensuring accurate and timely tax compliance and reporting.
  • Coordinate with risk management teams to ensure appropriate financial reporting and disclosures related to insurance, claims, and other risk-related matters.
This position is located in our Charlotte, NC Office (South End) and onsite
We'd Love To Hear From You If
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a large corporate or public accounting firm (Big 4 experience is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial consolidations, and technical accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly desired.
  • Experience with OneStream or similar consolidation/reporting tools is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, Power Query, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments and regions.
