Job summary

Blount Fine Foods in Fall River, MA is seeking a transportation coordinator to join our 2nd shift (1pm–10pm). The role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to manage truck scheduling, deliveries, pickups and inbound freight in a busy environment.

You will allocate trucking resources, coordinate with Sales and Production to meet shipping requirements, use a TMS and Power BI for reporting, and support the Accounts Payable team with freight processing and claims.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with 1–2 years transportation experience preferred.
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools (Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and manage truck deliveries, pickups, and inbound freight.
  • Allocate trucking resources efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Production to meet shipping requirements.
  • Process freight claims and collaborate with Accounts Payable.
  • Maintain on-time and in-full shipment tracking using reporting tools.
  • Utilize TMS for automation and generate Excel reports.

The pay range for this position is $50,000-$55,000 per year.


This is a 2nd shift from 1pm - 10pm


Job Summary

This position requires an individual who can work in a busy environment, possesses solid communication skills, is detail oriented and very organized.


Duties/Responsibilities


  • Needs to be able to execute all truck scheduling, deliveries, pickups and incoming freight.

  • Ensures proper allocation of trucking resources

  • Ensures most efficient and cost-effective transportation decisions.

  • Communicate effectively with Sales and Production, to fulfill all sales/shipping requirements. Including shipping delays and/or product rejection.

  • Helps to assist in processing freight claims and communicate with accounting on returns

  • Gathers all info for outbound transfers for all warehouses

  • Schedules PO’s that are requested by purchasing to be picked up

  • Schedules for trucks LTL and truck loads daily

  • Utilizes TMS system(s) for automation of truck scheduling and tracking shipments and keeps track of excel reports for tracking on time deliveries to customers.

  • Utilize PowerBI and other reporting outlets to analyze current state data to ensure customer shipments are occurring on time and in full.

  • Support Fleet Operations when necessary to maintain business continuity.

  • Subject Matter of Expert (SME) of Department software & technical solutions.

  • Participate in business reviews with vendor partners to ensure contractual deliveries are achieved as negotiated.

  • Participates in the Invoicing review process to ensure accuracy and support the Accounts Payable team.

  • Directly supports the development and tracking of department Key Performance Indicators to drive continuous improvement.

  • Actively participates in personal development training opportunities to enhance business acumen and soft skills.

  • Serves as lead liaison for internal “customer” departments (Customer Solutions, Sales, Procurement, Demand Planning) to solve ad hoc events that challenge the flow of forecasted business Operations.

  • Assist department leadership in creation of training programs and SOPs.

  • Other responsibilities w/ similar skill and work conditions as assigned.

Education and/or Experience


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • At least 1 – 2 years related transportation experience required.
