Job summary

El Puente is seeking a Weekend Cornerstone Coordinator to oversee Saturday programming in the Williamsburg/ Brooklyn center, coordinating intergenerational activities and community partnerships.

You will recruit and supervise activity leaders, manage rosters, and ensure a welcoming, safe space for neighbors of all ages on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with occasional flexibility for other sites.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating community programs or activities for participants of different ages.
• Ability to supervise co-locators and activity leaders and coordinate with staff.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with rosters and incident reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate intergenerational activities and events (games, bingo, performances, celebrations).
• Build relationships with schools, faith-based orgs, and community centers to promote Saturday programming.
• Recruit, schedule, and supervise co-locators and activity leaders; manage room assignments and schedule changes.
• Help new participants enroll and match activities to interests; maintain rosters and sign-in sheets.
• Oversee Saturday site operations, setup/breakdown, announcements, and cleanliness.
• Document activities and report incidents to the Program Director; coordinate with DYCD as required.

Through youth and community development, arts and cultural organizing, education, and civic engagement, El Puente supports communities in shaping the decisions that affect their lives.The OpportunityEl Puente seeks a Cornerstone Weekend Coordinator to oversee Saturday programming and help make the center a safe, welcoming place for neighbors of all ages. The Coordinator organizes intergenerational activities, builds relationships with neighborhood groups, and connects residents with programs that reflect their interests.As the on-site point person on Saturdays, the Coordinator works with program staff, co-locators, and the community groups that use the center to offer activities.Key ResponsibilitiesWeekend Programming and Community OutreachPlan and facilitate intergenerational activities and special events, such as game tournaments, bingo, performances, and community celebrations.Build relationships with neighborhood offices, schools, faith-based organizations, and community centers to promote Saturday programming and recruit participants and partner groups.Recruit, schedule, and supervise co-locators and activity leaders during Saturday programming. Coordinate room assignments and communicate schedule changes.Help new participants enroll and find activities that match their interests. Maintain current rosters and sign-in sheets, and share them with activity leaders and security as needed.Site Operations, Safety, and ReportingOversee Saturday site operations, including room availability, setup and breakdown, announcements, and troubleshooting. Keep program spaces clean, organized, and ready for use.Follow site safety and emergency procedures, coordinate with staff and security when concerns arise, and document and report incidents to the Program Director and DYCD as required.Maintain co-locator and activity leader records, including contact information, agreements, and required fingerprinting documentation.Document Saturday activities and events, email the Program Director an update after each shift, and meet with the Program Director every two weeks.QualificationsExperience coordinating community programs, events, or activities for participants of different ages.Ability to supervise activities, coordinate with staff and community partners, and respond calmly to schedule changes or safety concerns.Strong communication and organizational skills, including the ability to maintain accurate rosters, records, and incident reports.Availability to work Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and flexibility to support other El Puente program locations as needed.Willingness to complete required CPR and RTE training.Location, Salary and BenefitsThis position is based in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.This is a part-time position, scheduled Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional adjustments based on program needsCompensation for this position is $25 per hour.Equal Employment OpportunityEl Puente is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a staff that reflects the communities we serve.
