Job summary

Truist Financial Corporation is seeking a senior leader to identify, assess, and mitigate technology risks, ensuring regulatory compliance and a strong control environment. You will implement governance frameworks, oversee controls, and provide reporting to senior management and regulators.

This role requires at least seven years in technology governance, a Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, and willingness to work in Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA on site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, information security, engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in technology governance.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience applying governance assessment methodologies and control frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and continuously improves technology governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Provides detailed and timely reporting on technology risk posture to management and regulators.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate governance into projects and operations.
  • Supports internal and external reporting by preparing documentation and facilitating control testing.
  • Monitors emerging tech risks and regulatory changes, recommending proactive adjustments.

Leads the identification, assessment, and mitigation of technology risks to ensure regulatory compliance and a strong control environment. Implements and enforces governance processes and controls, providing oversight and reporting to safeguard critical technology assets and support organizational objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implements and continuouslyimprovestechnologygovernanceframeworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Provides detailed andtimelyreporting on technology risk posture and compliance to senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrategovernanceinto technology projects, operations, and governance processes.
  • Supports internal and external reporting by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries,andmayfacilitaecontrol testing.
  • Monitors emerging technology risks and regulatory changes, recommending proactive adjustments togovernancestrategies.
  • Manages large, complex technologygovernanceprojects and assignments and provides guidance and coaching to junior professionals and project teams within the technologygovernancedomain.
  • Drives risk awareness andcomplianceculture across technology teams through training and communication initiatives.
  • Directs comprehensive technologygovernanceassessments and control testing toidentifyvulnerabilities and ensure effective risk mitigation.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in technologygovernance.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience applyinggovernanceassessment methodologies and control frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.
  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, Networking and Cloud Certifications (e.g. Microsoft, AWS, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of CTO technology capabilities, processes and frameworks related as SDLC/TDLC, Incident and Problem Management, CI/CD, Cloud Technologies, Networking and Storage technologies, understanding of Enterprise Architecture principles.
  • Proven ability to manage complex technology governance projects, programs, and initiatives.

The annual base salary for this position is $140,000 - $160,000
