Job description

Job Title: Core Technician - Standard Repair

Starkey Hearing is seeking a Core Technician - Standard Repair to join our Eden Prairie, MN manufacturing team. If you enjoy detailed work involving analyzing, recording, and tracking customer complaints using a computer and ten key, this could be your next career move. Starkey Hearing offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 4 weeks of PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K. We also have an onsite Wellness Center and cafeteria.

Work Hours

Monday through Friday, 7am - 3:30pm

Job Responsibilities
  1. Navigate to applicable Job Method
  2. Scan bar code in CQM and verify all information
  3. Verify serial numbers, bill to, ship to, part numbers match repair form, work order, and devices
  4. Read the repair form
  5. Perform visual inspections and verify codes
  6. Conduct listen checks
  7. Enter or modify data in order amend
  8. Scan the AP shell (if applicable)
  9. Fill out SLS form (if applicable)
  10. Enter symptom, diagnosis, and treatment in CQM for AP
  11. Scan and mark repair form
  12. Transfer AP in OMT or submit shell request
  13. Address OMT failure (if applicable)
  14. Visual inspection and verify serial number of aid/charger
  15. Enter symptom, diagnosis, and treatment in CQM of RIC/Charger
  16. Verify scanned repair form
  17. Transfer aid/charger
  18. Collect aids/chargers daily
  19. Dispose of paperwork
  20. Return boxes
  21. Record daily output
  22. Communicate quality issues to PM/Quality technician and attend departmental meetings
  23. Flex into other Core Tech positions as needed
  24. Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Minimum Education, Certification, and Experience
  • Ability to read and understand standard work instructions
  • Certification based on job knowledge, quality, and output standards
Knowledge/Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of parts of the ear and hearing aids
  • Knowledge of Starkey's computer systems
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Good hearing to test hearing aids
Work Environment
  • PPE such as gloves encouraged when using machinery, but not required
  • Potential exposure to noise, dust, and hazardous chemicals
  • Primarily sitting (95% of workday)
  • Responsive to supervisor directives and attendance expectations
  • Typing 10 key into Starkey systems frequently

Compensation and Benefits

The target salary range is $17.03 to $23.22 per hour, influenced by location, skills, education, and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), life and disability insurance, employee assistance, hearing aid benefits, PTO, paid holidays, volunteer days, paternity leave, and tuition reimbursement. The position may be eligible for a performance bonus, though not guaranteed.
