Job summary

Milestone Bank seeks an experienced IT professional to join our Jack Henry implementation team as a core banking specialist. The role is hybrid, with collaboration alongside vendor consultants and our Project Manager to learn, configure, and document the build and data conversion processes.

Post go-live, you will be the bank's power user, administering user access, maintaining product configurations, and coordinating with lending, deposits, finance, and operations to translate needs into system

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent.
• Expert-level experience configuring and administering the Jack Henry core banking platform (SilverLake, CIF 20/20).
• Prior experience supporting a core system conversion or implementation is strongly preferred.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

During Implementation

• Participate as an active, embedded team member throughout the Jack Henry implementation, working directly with the implementation vendor's consultants and the Bank's Project Manager.


• Learn and document the system build step-by-step, including configuration decisions, workflows, product and portfolio setup, integrations, and data conversion logic, to develop full working knowledge of how the Bank's instance of Jack Henry is built.


• Attend and actively engage in implementation working sessions, testing cycles (unit, system, and user acceptance testing), and conversion validation to understand the rationale behind each configuration decision.


• Identify questions, gaps, or risks in the build from an end-user and future-administrator perspective, and raise them to the Project Manager and vendor team in a timely manner.


• Support development of internal training materials, desk procedures, and configuration documentation to capture institutional knowledge as the build progresses.

Post-Implementation / Ongoing

• Serve as the Bank's designated power user and primary point of internal expertise for the Jack Henry core system following go-live.


• Configure, build, and maintain additional loan, deposit, and other portfolio types within the core system as the Bank introduces new products or lines of business.


• Own day-to-day system administration tasks, including user setup and access provisioning, parameter and configuration changes, product and rate maintenance, and report/queue configuration.


• Evaluate, test, and implement system updates, patches, and new Jack Henry releases or modules in coordination with IT and relevant business lines.


• Troubleshoot core system issues, working directly with Jack Henry support and internal stakeholders to resolve configuration or functionality problems.


• Partner with business units (lending, deposit operations, credit, finance) to translate operational and product needs into system configuration and build requirements.


• Maintain a deep and current understanding of Jack Henry functionality, releases, and best practices, including through ongoing training, user groups, and vendor resources.


• Support internal control, audit, and regulatory examination requests related to core system configuration, access, and change management.


• Document system configuration standards, change history, and administrative procedures to reduce key-person risk and support business continuity.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Relationships

• Works under the direction of the Bank's assigned Project Manager during the implementation phase; does not manage the implementation timeline, scope, and vendor relationship.


• Partners with the Jack Henry implementation vendor's consultants throughout build, testing, and conversion.


• Collaborates with business unit leaders (lending, deposit operations, credit, finance) to scope and prioritize post-implementation build requests.


• Reports progress, risks, and system status to the Chief Technology Officer (or designated IT leadership).

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Expert-level, hands‑on experience configuring and administering the Jack Henry core banking platform (e.g., SilverLake, CIF 20/20, or the applicable Jack Henry system used by the Bank), including product/portfolio build‑out.


• Prior experience participating in or supporting a core system conversion or implementation is strongly preferred.


• Working knowledge of bank operations across lending and/or deposit functions sufficient to translate business requirements into system configuration.


• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment on system changes with downstream operational impact.


• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, a Project Manager, and internal business stakeholders across varying levels of technical fluency.


• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, given the operational and regulatory sensitivity of core system configuration.

Location

This is a hybrid position reporting to our Troy, MI or Salt Lake City, UT office three days a week (Tues. Wed. Thurs).
