About the Role
The Commercial Security Service Sales Representative focuses on driving recurring service revenue by selling service agreements, maintenance plans, and upgrades to commercial customers with installed security, fire, and life safety systems. This role builds long‑term customer relationships to ensure compliant, reliable, and fully supported security systems.
Primary Responsibilities
Service Contract Sales
- Identify and sell service agreements, maintenance plans, and monitoring services to new and existing commercial customers.
- Renew expiring service contracts and expand coverage where applicable.
- Develop proposals for preventative maintenance, inspection programs, and system upgrades.
Account Management
- Maintain regular contact with assigned commercial accounts to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Conduct customer system reviews to identify service, compliance, and upgrade opportunities.
- Build long‑term relationships with facility managers, property managers, and business owners.
Revenue Growth
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for service agreements and recurring revenue.
- Identify opportunities to expand services including video monitoring, access control support, managed services, and preventative maintenance programs.
- Work with installation and service teams to convert installation customers into long‑term service contract clients.
Pipeline & Forecasting
- Maintain accurate opportunities, pipeline, and forecasts in CRM.
- Track renewal opportunities and proactively engage customers before contract expiration.
Collaboration
- Partner with service managers and technicians to ensure proper service delivery.
- Coordinate service proposals, inspections, and follow‑up with internal teams.
- Support cross‑selling efforts with installation sales teams.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of sales experience in commercial security, fire alarm, access control, or related technical services.
- Demonstrated success selling service agreements or recurring revenue programs.
- Strong understanding of electronic security systems, service programs, or maintenance contracts.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and maintain pipeline discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling RMR‑based services in security integration or fire protection.
- Knowledge of systems such as access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, and fire alarm systems.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce, Dynamics, HubSpot, etc.).
Compensation
Compensation: Base salary + commission based on new service and installation sales; 1st‑year total compensation $140,000 to $150,000.
