Job summary

Tin Can is hiring two Software Engineers to own the core product—features that give kids a reason to call, and an easy way to do it. You’ll build across the app (Flutter) and TypeScript services on AWS Lambda, handling contacts, call logs, voicemail, and call routing with voice platform integration.

You’ll collaborate with product, design, and firmware engineers to ship features that delight families. This is a hands-on, scrappy team with an on-site Seattle role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building user-facing software.
• Shipped a mobile or web client used daily.
• Strong TypeScript skills with production APIs.
• Experience with Flutter/Dart is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI as a prototyping multiplier is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own the core product features that enable calling and contact management.
• Build across the app (Flutter) and backend services (TypeScript on AWS Lambda).
• Collaborate with product, design, and voice/platform engineers.
• Define call-routing rules and hotline features.
• Develop tooling for hotlines, scheduling, uploading, and playback.
• Ship service-side features tied to firmware integration.
• Instrument effects with event schemas, dashboards, and alarms.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support released features.
