Cardiology Service Line Lead / General Cardiologist

CORE Physicians, a member of the Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) integrated health system, is seeking a fulltime Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Cardiologist to join our growing Cardiology practice. Located in the beautiful Seacoast region of New Hampshire - just an hour north of Boston - this role offers an exceptional balance of professional growth and an unmatched quality of life.

In a triad relationship with Core Cardiology Practice Administrator and EH Cardiac Director with accountability for daily operations and overall cardiology service line performance. The Service Line Leader portion of this role is 0.25 FTE; while the remaining 0.75 FTE is practicing general cadiology. The cardiology service line lead will report to the CMO of Core Physicians.

Responsibilities

• Develop an aligned set of strategies and organize services in a manner that will allow maximization of quality, growth, efficiency, cost effectiveness, patient experience, care retention, and service differentiation. This triad leadership team will operate in synergistic, nonhierarchical relationship to leverage the technical strengths an expertise

required of each individual role, and will be jointly accountable to drive exceptional results for the cardiology service line that are greater than could be achieved individually. In partnership with the Exeter Hospital Cardiac Director and Core Practice Administrator organizes, directs, and integrates the cardiology service line with all other departments and services within the hospital and within Core.

• Assure that the cardiology service line provides services in a timely manner which meets the needs of the Medical Staff and the Hospital. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices to improve and enhance the quality of cardiology services along our healthcare continuum. Act as a champion for system wide initiatives and

determine means to educate and communicate with providers, staff, and leadership with a unified perspective and voice.

• Promote continuous improvement throughout the department and practice. Partner with the Practice Administrator and Exeter Hospital Cardiac Director to lead and deploy practice and system wide initiatives using effective change management and improvement methodology. Work with triad partners to provide input on best practices, strategy, and future direction.

• Collaborate with Practice Administrator in managing operating expense and productivity to drive overall financial performance. Triad will assess the need for equipment and supplies and work collaboratively with the team to develop projects that ensure the cost effectiveness of cardiac care provided by physicians and hospital. Partner with triad partners to identify future capital needs and growth plans. Effectively communicate and champion decisions regarding expense management decisions.
• Ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care experience. Understand and act upon patient survey data, focus on referral data, and round with patients and clinical staff. Empower staff to resolve patient complaints and concerns and create a mindset of service recovery when needed. Ensure provider resources are aligned for optimal patient access.
• Promote and encourage teamwork, collaboration, and self-development. Seek opportunity to promote development and growth as a leader including meeting facilitation and representing locally, and across Core Physicians and Exeter Health Resources.
• Lead, motivate, and develop clinical staff. Work with the Practice Administrator on improving employee engagement. Analyze and act on employee engagement data. Communicate with and engage providers and staff in key initiatives by establishing and sharing a clear, compelling vision that allows them to see their contributions and role in the work. Foster provider awareness of their role as a leader in the department. Maintain a strong presence within the clinic, demonstrating awareness and involvement in department activities. Work alongside the Practice Administrator to ensure that staff feels supported in participating in continuous learning.
• Partner with Practice Administrator and Exeter Hospital Cardiac Director to create an environment needed to achieve specified clinical quality goals. Work to identify and address gaps in adherences to care integration strategies. Appropriately identify changes in support and/or resources that impact work and elevate to the next level of leadership. Provide education for hospital staff regarding cardiology service line policies and appropriate medical practices. Work collaboratively with the Education Department on cardiac care education.
• Maintain personal integrity in all aspects of communication and relationship throughout the organization. Promote a cooperative and collaborative working environment among the clinical disciplines involved in cardiac care. Maintain an effective working relationship with the medical staff, cardiology staff, administration, and other departments.
