Job summary

Comcast seeks an Engineer2 in Network Engineering to support lifecycle management of core network infrastructure and to develop automation solutions that streamline deployment, augmentation, upgrade, migration, and retirement of devices. The role blends networking expertise with software development to improve configuration management, compliance validation, and operational visibility.

Qualifications

2–3 years of experience in networking, systems engineering, or related infrastructure roles.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, OSI model, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS, EIGRP).
Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for automation.
Experience with CI/CD, Git, infrastructure-as-code, and exposure to container tools.

Responsibilities

Support full lifecycle of network infrastructure including deployment, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning.
Develop Python-based automation for provisioning, configuration management, validation, and compliance.
Assist with network audits, configuration deployment, and large-scale multi-vendor configurations.
Analyze telemetry and logs to identify trends and improve performance.
Collaborate across engineering, operations, and software teams to integrate automation.
