Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Software Engineer, Core Java, to join our Westerville, OH team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and operate scalable microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Kubernetes in an agile environment.

You will contribute to secure production code, build dashboards and reporting, and help drive architectural improvements. Experience with observability tools like Splunk, Grafana, and Dynatrace is highly valued, with familiarity of CI/CD

Qualifications

• 3+ years of applied software engineering experience or formal training/certification.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, with microservices development experience.
• Hands-on system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Kafka, Kubernetes/containers, CI/CD, Splunk, Grafana, SQL, and Oracle DB.
• Experience building and maintaining code in large enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of SDLC, resiliency, and security practices with agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with observability and performance tooling such as Dynatrace and Splunk.
