Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an Industrial Engineer to lead the development and improvement of Vehicle Operations and Powertrain Operations standards. You will coordinate training and knowledge-sharing initiatives, manage critical IE systems and labor-related data, and support strategic labor planning across manufacturing facilities.

The role emphasizes collaboration with IE teams, data management, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical).
• 1+ years of Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing operations experience; 6 months Co-Op counts.
• Experience with GSPAS required.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, documentation, and continuous improvement of IE standards, procedures, and forms, collaborating with IE plant and staff engineers.
• Coordinate Industrial Engineering Information Sharing meetings and the IE Forum for knowledge exchange and collaboration.
• Develop and deliver IE training programs, including MODAPTS, Lunch & Learn, and PTME & VME Training weeks.
• Manage the IE Competency/Training matrix and IE Manufacturing Capabilities/Pathway to guide development.
• Manage PTME Engineered JPH Database and support the JPH Re-rate Approval Process for accuracy.
• Act as the IE single point of contact for key manufacturing systems (APT/GSPAS, GMOD, OPIC, Global Integrator, FPS) and oversee IE deliverables.

What You’ll Do...

• Standards, Procedures & Best Practices:
• Lead the development, documentation, and continuous improvement of VO (Vehicle Operations) and PTO (Powertrain Operations) Industrial Engineering standards, procedures, and forms, collaborating with IE plant and staff engineers.
• Knowledge Sharing & Collaboration:
• Facilitate and coordinate Industrial Engineering Information Sharing meetings and the broader Industrial Engineering Forum to promote knowledge exchange and foster a collaborative IE community.
• Training & Competency Development:
• Develop and deliver comprehensive Industrial Engineering training programs, including MODAPTS, Lunch & Learn sessions, and dedicated PTME & VME Training weeks.
• Manage and maintain the Industrial Engineering Competency/Training matrix and IE Manufacturing Capabilities / Pathway, leveraging it to guide ongoing development and knowledge reinforcement.
• Data Management & Process Support:
• Manage the PTME Engineered JPH (Jobs Per Hour) Database and support the JPH Re-rate Approval Process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Act as the Industrial Engineering single point of contact for key manufacturing systems including APT/GSPAS, GMOD, OPIC, Global Integrator, and FPS Workstation Readiness, overseeing IE deliverables and labor screen content.
• Manage Industrial Engineering SharePoints, including the Labor SAR site, to ensure accessible and organized information.
• Strategic Labor Planning & Analysis:
• Generate pre-program (Pre-PS) labor estimates for critical activities such as Cycle Plan development, Capacity/Footprint analysis, Sourcing decisions, and various "what-if" scenarios.
• Support the Manufacturing Labor Strategy.
• Centralized Communication & Coordination:
• Lead centralized labor communication and coordination efforts with the Controller's Office for key financial processes including Business Plan submissions, Board of Directors reporting, and Mix Wires analysis.
• Coordinate labor support for the CPV and FPV processes.
• Continuous Improvement & Benchmarking:
• Support Manufacturing's active involvement in benchmarking activities to identify best practices and drive continuous improvement in labor efficiency and processes.
• GSPAS System Management & Optimization:
• Manage the GSPAS (Global Study Process Allocation System) Business Strategy, Tracklite Management, and support system assessments.
• Support system upgrade testing for APT (Allocations Planning Tool) and VPS (Vehicle Process System) modules within GSPAS.
• Financial Oversight:
• Manage and report on the Industrial Engineering Financial Spending status, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines.
• Labor Relations Support:
• Provide essential support to Labor Relations as required, contributing IE expertise to relevant discussions and initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical)
• 1+ years of Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing operations experience /6 months Co-Op intern experience will count towards experience
• Experience with GSPAS required

This position is a salary grade 5 and ranges from $65,100-$109,300.

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
