Job summary

Ford Motor Company is hiring a Team Manager - ME & Maintenance to lead maintenance and engineering teams, drive production scheduling, and manage budgets and resources across the ME organization. You will champion continuous improvement, apply Six Sigma principles, and mentor engineers and technicians to deliver results on time and within cost targets.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a commitment to quality and safety in large-scale manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering required (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or related).
  • 5 years in maintenance and engineering roles.
  • Experience in production environments.

In this position...

You will be responsible for promoting a positive environment of culture, communication and employee recognition.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead Maintenance and engineering teams in production scheduling, staffing, procurement and maintenance of Final Department equipment
  • Lead Project Writing and process of collecting and evaluating data in sound business cases
  • Coach, Counsel and Teach the team's GSRs to handle and lead multi-dollar projects
  • Coordinates the resources and activities of ME organization to meet the production schedule within budgetary limitations and time constraints
  • Participates in production scheduling, staffing, procurement and maintenance of equipment, quality control, inventory control, and the coordination of production activities with those of other departments
  • Analyzes the plant's personnel and capital resources to select the best ways of meeting the production quota
  • Monitors the production run to make sure that it stays on schedule and correct any problems that may arise
  • Promotes and ensure constant improvement in the ME organization toward the common goal of improving product quality, plant competitiveness and total cost structure
  • Ensures department complies with government/industry standards
  • Coordinate the resources and activities required to ensure problem free start-up
  • Facilitate start-up / shift to shift meetings
  • Evaluate and deliver FTPM measurable
  • Promote and support Small Team Work Groups
  • Champion constraint analysis and coordinate activities to eliminate the bottlenecks
  • Ensure deliverables are aligned with VIM Action Matrix, 5-year plan, JPH Package
  • Establish the goal of maximizing equipment effectiveness to improve productivity
  • Review/approve PM activities
  • Address department Health and Safety concerns
  • Review department safety measurables & coordinate improvement activities
  • Drive SQCDMME
  • Manage to budgets
You'll have...
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or other
  • 5 years in maintenance and engineering
  • Experience in Production
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

  • In depth experience in assembly manufacturing processes
  • Strong working knowledge of the Ford Production System
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills, including working knowledge of Six Sigma

  • Trouble shoot part formability concerns
  • Make solid dimensional moves to a die process
  • Solve 7207 die run at rate issues
  • Interpret and correct surface issues
  • Understand 1294 specifications and how they relate to level 3 data
  • Change parts via the stamping or assembly process
  • Understand assembly net and clamping process
  • Evaluate a part on the fixture
  • Be familiar with the Pro-Tag process
  • Be familiar with the PSW process and have the knowledge to PPAP parts
  • Understand CM4D
  • Have a good grasp of statistics

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or other
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

  • Safety and Quality experience preferred

This position is leadership level 5 and ranges from $141,700-$268,300.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
