Job summary

Shenandoah University’s Division of Nutrition and Dietetics invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor Core Faculty in the Graduate Program in Nutrition and Dietetics. This is a full-time benefited position located on our Health Professions campus in Winchester, Virginia.

The graduate program emphasizes competency-based learning with integrated supervised practice and ACEND accreditation. The appointee will teach, advise, and engage in scholarship and service within the School

Qualifications

• Graduation from an ACEND-accredited Nutrition and Dietetics program is required.
• A doctoral degree is preferred.
• Minimum of two years of clinical nutrition therapy experience is preferred.
• Minimum of two years of postbaccalaureate teaching experience is preferred.
• The position requires candidates to be a Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
• Active membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Fostering inclusive learning environments is expected.
• Engagement in scholarship or educational scholarship is expected.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the graduate program during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
• Participate in curriculum development and ensure alignment with ACEND standards.
• Provide academic advising and mentoring to students.
• Engage in scholarly activity and mentor student research/capstone projects.
• Contribute to service activities at division, school, university, and professional levels.
• Collaborate with faculty from other health professions for interprofessional education.
• Participate in recruitment, retention, and student success initiatives.
