Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Core Facility Research Specialist 1 to execute complex research protocols in revenue-generating Shared Resource core facilities in Miami. The role acts as a liaison between the SR Director, Lab Supervisor and staff for lab and equipment management and inventory control.

Responsibilities include operating advanced equipment, developing core procedures, maintaining regulatory compliance, reviewing results, and ensuring accurate notebook and database records

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure.
• Effective interpersonal relationships and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Executes complex research protocols in shared resource core facilities.
• Maintains inventory records and liaises with SR Director and Lab Supervisor.
• Operates standard lab equipment and assists in new core procedures.
• Reviews results and maintains lab notebooks and databases with SOP adherence.
• Performs QA/QC and minor equipment maintenance; communicates service needs.
• Keeps up with current publications and safeguards university assets.
