Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Core Facility Research Specialist 1 to perform complex research protocols within revenue-generating shared resource cores in Miami. The role acts as a liaison between the SR Director, Lab Supervisor, and staff for lab and equipment maintenance, ordering, and inventory control.

Responsibilities include operating advanced laboratory equipment, adhering to SOPs, maintaining detailed lab notebooks, and supporting QA/QC and molecular genetics workflows as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Skills in collecting, organizing and analyzing data and maintaining records.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains sophisticated laboratory equipment.
• Reviews laboratory results and maintains records using a lab notebook or database.
• Follows SOPs and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Manages inventory and orders supplies; verifies receipts.
• Assists in QA/QC and maintenance of equipment; liaises with service engineers as needed.
• Develops proficiency in new software, cloud tools, and databases.
