Job summary

Oklo is seeking a Core Design Engineer to design reactor cores balancing neutronics, thermal hydraulics, materials, mechanics and economics. The role involves multiphysics simulations, clear design docs, and close work with fabrication teams.

Applicants should have nuclear engineering degrees and hands-on core design experience, plus Python or C++ coding and neutronic/thermal-hydraulic expertise. Travel to Santa Clara, CA is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master/PhD in nuclear engineering or related field.
• Experience with core design from a multidisciplinary viewpoint.
• Experience with Python or C++ programming.
• Experience with neutronic analyses and reactor physics.
• Experience with thermal-hydraulic analysis and materials.
• Strong written and verbal communication for reports.

Responsibilities

• Travel to Santa Clara, CA for team meetings 2x per quarter.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into system functional specs.
• Model core performance via multiphysics simulations and first principles.
• Document work with modern tools and produce technical reports.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to define performance requirements.
