AKG North America – Mebane, NC is seeking a Core Component Machine Operator for 2nd and 3rd shifts. You will operate, set up and maintain multiple machines, loading aluminum with hoists and ensuring quality fins/turbulators.

Responsibilities

• Load raw materials with chain hoist and unload as needed.
• Configure settings based on work orders and monitor multiple machines.
• Review quality of fins/turbulators and document results.
• Keep area clean and safe; perform basic preventative maintenance.

What You’ll Do:

Operate, setup and maintain various machines within Core Component Area. The operator will be cross-trained and expected to perform duties across multiple machines and functions, depending on operational needs and production schedules.

• Read, follow and understand detailed work order instructions in manufacturing environment.
• Use a chain hoist to load the aluminum raw material onto the machine.
• Setup, operate and monitor different machines such as saws, presses, cutters and formers.
• Load and unload materials using hoists, pallet jacks, or manually as needed.
• Adjust the settings on the machine based on the work order instructions.
• Program and simultaneously operate a maximum of three machines.
• Inspect the quality of the produced fins/turbulators on a continual basis.
• Document and label the fins/turbulators after they have been produced.
• Sort and store completed fins/turbulators, package if indicated on work order instructions.
• Meet the production quotas that were received from the Lead or Supervisor.
• Document production data, part counts, and label store completed products accurately.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on the machines as needed.Report any issues to the Supervisor, or appropriate personnel, as soon as detected.
• Adhere to all safety rules, company policies, and Environmental Management System (EMS) procedures.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and/or requirements in AKG’s environmental management system (EMS).

What We’re Looking For:

• Ability to use basic computer programs.
• Must have basic mathematic skills, along with the ability to use and understand measuring tools.
• Must have great attention to detail.
• Experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be available and able to work the agreed shift.
• This position works hours from 1pm-9pm, Mon-Fri or 9pm-5am, Sun-Thurs.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Experience with the following is a plus:

• Must be able to walk (100%) of the time. May also be required to bend, stoop, pull, push, twist and turn.
• Must be able to lift to 50lbs (100%) of the time.
• Must be able to use a pallet jack and a chain hoist.
• You must use safety equipment such as steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection and gloves. All of these are provided by AKG, except for steel toe shoes.
