Job summary

Consolidated Precision Products Corp. in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Core Assembler for the 2nd shift in the aerospace sector. You will organize copes, drags, cores, and tooling, clean parts, and assemble around molds while following documentation and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Organizes copes, drags, pipe parts, cores, hand tools, etc., necessary to complete assigned assembly jobs and checks all available documentation (travelers, special instructions, etc.).
• Prior to performing assembly operations, cleans pipe parts, etc., using hand tools and cleans rough surfaces, blows with air hose to remove sand.
• Performs assembly operations according to established close dimensional requirements using fixtures.
• Inspects copes, drags, pipe parts, cores, hand tools, etc., for damages and scraps unusable materials to minimize delays.
• Forms and assembles cores around patterns and positions in mold using hand tools and glue.
• Acquire additional certifications and credentials as required for work or career development.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Comply with safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures.
• Ability to work at the Bloomington facility.
• Participate in special projects as required by Management.
• Level of Assembler is based on completed quality training of complex molds.

What will you do?

• Organizes copes, drags, pipe parts, cores, hand tools, etc., necessary to complete assigned assembly jobs and checks all available documentation (travelers, special instructions, etc.) which is available.
• Prior to performing assembly operations, cleans pipe parts, etc., using hand tools as well as clean up all rough surfaces with mud, paste, etc., and blows with air hose to remove excess sand
• Performs assembly operations according to established close dimensional requirements using necessary fixtures.
• Inspects all copes, drags, pipe parts, cores, hand tools, etc., prior to cleaning and assembling and scraps materials which are damaged or unusable to minimize production delay and rework.
• Form and assemble cores around patterns and position in mold using hand tools and glue.
• Acquire additional certifications and credentials as required for work or career development
• Maintain a clean, organized work area
• Comply with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures
• Ability to work at the Bloomington facility
• Work on/participate in special projects as needed or assigned by Management
• Level of Assembler is based on completed quality training of complex molds
