Job summary

Remotelyhr is hiring a Pipelayer for in-person work in Corona, CA. The role involves installing and repairing sanitary, storm, sewer structures, and pipe systems, and reading blueprints to guide installations on active construction sites.

You will align and position pipes, check slopes with instruments, and ensure safe, efficient workflow while reporting safety concerns and maintaining a clean work area.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of pipe laying methods and procedures.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret plans.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to operate hand tools and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Installs and repairs sanitary, storm, sewer structures, and pipe systems.
• Reads and interprets blueprints for utilities.
• Aligns and positions pipes and checks slopes with instruments.
• Covers trench with earth and ensures safe workflow.
• Reports safety concerns to supervisor.
• Works with foreman, superintendent, or HR on issues.
• Responsible for site safety and clean working environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Pipelayer position is responsible for performing various duties on construction projects.

Essential Functions:

• Installs and repair sanitary, storm, sewer structures, and pipe systems
• Installs underground WET utilities such as water or sewage, beneath the ground.
• Reads, identify, and understand blueprints related to all above and below ground utilities
• Reports any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager
• Aligns and position pipes
• Checks slopes for conformance to requirements, using instruments such as lasers and grade rod
• Connects pipe pieces and seal joints
• Covers pipe with earth or other materials
• Levels trench bases, using machinery or hand tools
• Ensures a clean and safe working environment and addressing any potential safety concerns
• Other duties assigned

• Responsible for ensuring OSHA standards and company safety policies are complied with at all times including but not limited to operation of tools, equipment and machinery
• Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately

• Able to dig trenches to locate utilities by hand or using trenching tools
• Ability to handle, fit, and install drainage, sewer, water, and associated appurtenances
