Job summary

TIG Distributing Inc in Missouri is seeking a Sanitation Associate to clean and sanitize food processing areas, equipment, and tools in accordance with company standards and regulatory guidelines. You will help prevent contamination and support GMP, BRC, and HACCP compliance.

You will follow sanitation schedules, use approved chemicals with proper PPE, document activities, and coordinate with QA and Production to ensure readiness for production.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience in sanitation.
  • Basic understanding of food safety principles and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English instructions and chemical labels.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and wet/cold environment.

Responsibilities

  • Clean floors, walls, drains, conveyors, and other facility areas using approved chemicals.
  • Clean office environments.
  • Follow sanitation schedules and complete daily/weekly/monthly cleaning tasks.
  • Handle and properly use cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, ensuring adherence to SDS and PPE guidelines.
  • Document sanitation activities accurately on logs and checklists.
  • Inspect cleaned areas and equipment to ensure cleanliness prior to production resumes.
  • Communicate equipment malfunctions or safety issues to supervisors immediately.
  • Work closely with QA and Production teams to ensure sanitation aligns with food safety protocols.
  • Comply with GMPs, HACCP, BRC, and OSHA standards.
  • Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives related to sanitation and food safety.
  • Maintain proper storage and organization of sanitation tools and supplies.

Job Summary

The Sanitation Associate is responsible for ensuring that all food processing areas, equipment, and tools are cleaned and sanitized according to company standards and food safety regulations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for food production, preventing contamination, and complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), BRC, and HACCP requirements.

General Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clean floors, walls, drains, conveyors, and other facility areas using approved chemicals and cleaning tools.
  • Clean office environments.
  • Follow sanitation schedules and complete daily/weekly/monthly cleaning tasks as assigned.
  • Handle and properly use cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, ensuring adherence to safety data sheets (SDS) and PPE guidelines.
  • Document sanitation activities accurately on logs and checklists.
  • Inspect cleaned areas and equipment to ensure they meet cleanliness and sanitation standards before production resumes.
  • Communicate any equipment malfunctions or safety issues to supervisors immediately.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance (QA) and Production teams to ensure sanitation aligns with food safety protocols.
  • Comply with all safety and food safety regulations, including GMPs, HACCP, BRC, and OSHA standards.
  • Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives related to sanitation and food safety.

Schedule

Monday - Thursday, 2:30PM - 1:00AM

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience in sanitation, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of food safety principles and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English instructions and chemical labels.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and wet/cold environment.
