Job summary

The Lincoln Community Center is seeking an Evening ABE Teaching Assistant to support online ESL classes and assist the ABE teacher and adult learners. You will help with attendance, access to Google Suite tools, and small group instruction in a dynamic online classroom.

Hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5:45 pm to 8:00 pm. Classes may be worked from school or from home. Chromebooks and headphones are provided to staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and basic computer skills with Google Suite.
• Experience with Google Meet, Google Docs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Taking attendance.
• Assisting students in accessing technology (Google Meet/Google Sites/Google Docs).
• Proctoring exams and assisting in small group instruction.
• Helping students log in via phone calls.

Evening Adult Basic Education Teaching Assistant

Lincoln Community Center

A position is open for an ABE Teaching Assistants in our evening online ESL classrooms beginning as soon as possible. The ABE teaching assistant will provide assistance to the ABE teacher and adult learners in the adult ESL online classes. The hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5:45 pm - 8pm. The student population includes adult learners with diverse backgrounds. ABE enrolls students from 50 different countries speaking 29 unique languages. Online classes may be worked from school or from home.

• Staff are provided a chromebook and headphones for this position.

Summary of Duties

Duties include taking attendance, assisting students in accessing the technology (google meet, google sites, google docs), proctoring exams and assisting in the classroom small group instruction. The teaching assistant will need to feel confident and comfortable with the computer and google suite for this position, and helping students log in via phone calls.

Qualifications Required

High school diploma or equivalent and strong computer skills including knowledge/application of Google Suite.
