Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Notify clients about fee payments and case status; prepare for mediation.
  • Gather and file client mediation evaluations.
  • Assist in planning training classes, workshops, and meetings.
  • Order, purchase and maintain program equipment and supplies.

Job description

Under the supervision of the Mediaion Director, assist in the coordination of mediation services with primary focus on client intakes and scheduling of mediation services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
  • interview clients to determine needs.
  • Conduct client intake and assist in screening cases for proper service,
  • Schedule and coordinate mediation sessions with volunteer mediators.
  • Prepares and maintains client files.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all case activity and client information.
  • Maintains appropriate contact with clients prior to mediation to apprise of their fee payment, case status and prepares for mediation.
  • Gather and file client mediation evaluations.
  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly reports.Assist in recruiting potential volunteer mediators.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with all volunteer mediators, court personnel, etc.
  • Assist in planning and organizing training classes, workshops, and meetings.
  • Order, purchase amd maintain program equipment and supplies.
OTHER DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
  • Attend basic mediation training and become certified to conduct mediation if called upon.
  • Perform other duties as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Mostly indoors in air conditioned office.

Equipment use: Daily use of usual office equipment and supplies is required.

MENTAL DEMANDS

Duties require use of judgement and attention to detail is required. Must be able to remain calm and positive in stressful situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Duties require sitting for periods of time.

COMMUNICATION DEMANDS

Good verbal and written communication skills. Duties require communication both inside and outside the agency using considerable tact and discretion.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Education/Experience: BA degree or any comparable combination of education and experience which would provide the knowledge skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties of this position. Degrees relating to social sciences preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to pass a criminal backround check
  • Ability to work with diverse population
  • Ability to work well independently and as well as part of a team
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.

Employment Type: Part Time

Compensation: $20.68/ Hourly
