East Central University (ECU) sponsors the Southeast Program for Early Settlement Mediation located at the Pittsburg County Courthouse in McAlester, OK. Position Summary
The Alternative Dispute Resolution System based out of the Administrative Office of the Courts oversees thirteen (13) regional Early Settlement Program offices serving all seventy-seven (77) Oklahoma Counties. The Early Settlement programs are grant programs provide FREE mediation services to the courts and communities across Oklahoma.
Mediators are community volunteers who attend a required training and complete steps to become a certified volunteer. Oklahoma has been recognized as having one of the top community-based, court-connected mediation programs in the nation!
The Early Settlement Mediation – Southeast Program is grant funded by the Supreme Court of Oklahoma, Administrative Office of the Courts and sponsored by East Central University (ECU) with the office located in the Pittsburg County Courthouse, McAlester, OK. The Program Director coordinates mediation services to the following southeastern Oklahoma counties: Choctaw, Haskell, Latimer, Leflore, McCurtain, McIntosh, Pittsburg, Pushmataha counties. The program has a satellite office in the McCurtain County Courthouse, Idabel, OK.

Work Environment
Work Environment is characterized by high noise levels from weight equipment, music, and participant activities. The facility experiences elevated temperatures and humidity, particularly during warmer months due to limited climate control. Regular exposure to wet conditions around pool areas is expected.
The program sponsor, East Central University, designee will oversee the day-to-day operations and the State Director and Associate State Director of the Oklahoma Supreme Court, Alternative Dispute Resolution System, will provide program operation guidelines and provide on-going support.
HOURS: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
This position provides direct supervision to individual contributors and offers continuous performance feedback. The role may also involve active participation in departmental activities to meet schedules and resolve issues as needed.
