Still Bright is bringing the RACER hydrometallurgical process to market as copper demand grows. The Director of Hydrometallurgy leads experimental and technical outcomes for pilot operation, scale‑up, and feedstock diversification, bridging lab insights to reliable system performance and deployment readiness.

This hands‑on leadership role builds a high‑performing team of engineers and technicians, manages external partners, and ensures safety, data integrity and compliance as the company

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in metallurgy, geology, chemical engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of industrial hydrometallurgy or process engineering experience.
  • Direct people management experience leading engineers or senior technicians.
  • Excellent understanding of copper mineralogy and hydrometallurgical processing.
  • Hands-on contributor capable of lab and pilot system work.
  • Strong experimental design, data analysis, and project management discipline.
  • Comfort in a startup or scale-up environment with travel for pilot/feedstock testing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day process development and engineering for the pilot system, including experimental design and data analysis.
  • Manage a team of hydrometallurgical engineers and senior technicians with performance development and mentorship.
  • Lead readiness and execution of integrated pilot campaigns, including commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Define operating parameters, control strategies, and decisions for pilot configuration and scale‑up risk.
  • Own bench‑level tests: ore characterization, recovery curves, and deleterious-element handling experiments.
  • Ensure data integrity, documentation, and safety in all lab and pilot activities.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align hydrometallurgy with company deployment plans.
