Job summary

Still Bright is leading the charge to commercialize RACER, the first viable hydrometallurgical alternative to copper smelting. The Lead Hydrometallurgical Engineer will own the end-to-end experimental program and drive scale-up—from bench to pilot—while defining strategy, prioritizing the roadmap, and delivering robust data for economic models and regulatory reporting.

Based in Kenilworth, NJ, this senior role requires 8+ years in process engineering or hydrometallurgy, with strong leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, metallurgical engineering, process engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in process engineering or hydrometallurgy, with ownership of programs.
• Proven experience in research design, bench-to-pilot translation, and data analysis.
• Strong command of mass and energy balances, flowsheet development, and equipment specification.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the hydrometallurgical experimental program end to end, roadmap copper extraction and co-product recovery.
• Serve as senior technical authority on leaching, separation, electrochemical reduction, and downstream recovery.
• Translate bench-scale results into scalable pilot and demonstration designs; identify risks early.
• Develop and maintain process flowsheets, mass/energy balances, and equipment specs for scale-up.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians; ensure best practices in safety and documentation.
