Job summary

Northside Hospital in the Atlanta area is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor to coordinate day-to-day activities and ensure instrument readiness for surgical services. You will oversee staff, support supply management, and uphold Sterile Processing policies to maintain high standards of patient safety.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong prioritization and problem-solving skills, and a background in sterile processing or related fields.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years sterile processing or related field experience with knowledge of instrument sterilization techniques, policies and procedures, purchasing activities, and surgical procedures, or 3 years as Surgical Technologist or OR RN experience.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make supervisory decisions and possess good problem solving skills.
• 1 year or more Sterile Processing or related field supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the day-to-day activities in the Sterile Processing department with 24-hour accountability.
• Lead the supervisors and staff in providing sterile instrumentation and supplies for Surgical Services and other areas as needed.

Coordinates the day- to - day activities with twenty-four (24) hour accountability for the Sterile Processing department. Works independently alongside the manager to lead the supervisors and staff in providing Surgical Services and numerous other areas within the organization with sterile instrumentation and supplies as needed.

Required

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2. Five (5) years sterile processing or related field experience with demonstrated knowledge of instrument sterilization techniques, Sterile Processing policies and procedures, purchasing activities, and surgical procedures. Or Three (3) years experience as Surgical Technologist or Registered Nurse operating room experience.
• 3. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate supervisory decisions. Must possess good problem solving skills.
• 4. One (1) year or more Sterile Processing or related field supervisory experience.

Preferred

• Two (2) year or greater college degree
• National certification in specialty.
