Why Join United Way of Central Florida?

Imagine going home each day knowing that your work has helped create welcoming, supportive, and meaningful experiences for young children and families in our community.

At United Way of Central Florida (UWCF), we believe that giving children a strong start creates possibilities that can last a lifetime. Through Success By 6, we connect families with resources, learning opportunities, and support designed to help children thrive.

We are seeking a warm, organized, and resourceful Success By 6 Coordinator who enjoys keeping an office and its programs running smoothly while also engaging directly with children and families.

This position offers a wonderful blend of administrative coordination, customer service, and hands‑on program involvement. From welcoming families and managing the many details that keep our Children's Resource Center operating efficiently to leading classes and supporting family learning experiences, you'll play an important role in bringing our mission to life.

If you take pride in being organized, enjoy helping people, and find fulfillment in creating positive experiences for children and families, we'd love to hear from you!

Position Overview

The Success By 6 Coordinator provides essential administrative, operational, and program support for United Way of Central Florida's Success By 6 initiative and Children's Resource Center.

The position plays a central role in the daily operation of the Center, serving as a welcoming first point of contact for families, visitors, and community partners while coordinating schedules, maintaining accurate records and program data, organizing meetings and events, managing resources, and providing administrative support to the Success By 6 team.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Coordinator actively participates in Success By 6 programming, including leading classes and facilitating family learning activities that encourage early childhood development, strengthen family connections, and create positive experiences for children and caregivers.

The ideal candidate brings strong administrative, organizational, and customer‑service skills, along with a genuine enthusiasm for working with children and families, confidence in leading group activities, and a commitment to helping our programs and Center operate successfully.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a welcoming and professional front‑office presence for the Children's Resource Center, greeting and assisting families, visitors, community partners, vendors, and other guests; respond to telephone calls, emails, inquiries, and requests for information while connecting individuals with appropriate staff, services, and resources.
  • Provide comprehensive day‑to‑day administrative and operational support to the Success By 6 team, including office organization, filing, copying, scanning, mailings, correspondence, document preparation, and other administrative functions that help the Children's Resource Center operate smoothly and efficiently.
  • Manage calendars and coordinate schedules for classes, meetings, events, appointments, and room reservations; oversee related logistics, including materials, supplies, room preparation, setup, and cleanup, to ensure programs and activities are well‑organized and welcoming for participants and staff.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper records, databases, spreadsheets, attendance and participation information, program documentation, reports, and files; perform data entry, review information for completeness and accuracy, and ensure required documentation is maintained and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Prepare documents, presentations, sign‑in materials, meeting agendas, and other administrative resources; coordinate departmental meetings, take and distribute meeting minutes, and track follow‑up items and action steps to support effective communication and coordination.
  • Maintain office, program, and resource supplies; monitor inventory and coordinate purchasing or replenishment as needed; support the Parent Lending Library by keeping materials organized and readily accessible and assisting families with locating and utilizing available resources.
  • Lead and facilitate Success By 6 classes and family learning activities, creating welcoming, engaging, and developmentally appropriate experiences for young children and caregivers; provide family‑centered support and assist with community outreach, family engagement initiatives, presentations, and special events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across UWCF on administrative needs, program coordination, community initiatives, events, and special projects; provide flexible support to the Success By 6 team while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
Qualifications & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business administration, office administration, early childhood education, child development, family services, human services, or a related field preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in administrative support, office coordination, customer service, program coordination, family services, or a related area preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with administrative responsibilities such as scheduling, maintaining records, preparing documents, managing databases or spreadsheets, and coordinating multiple activities and priorities.
  • Experience working with young children and families in an educational, community‑based, family engagement, or service‑oriented setting is a plus.
  • Experience facilitating classes, leading group activities, delivering presentations, or supporting educational programs is preferred; candidates with strong communication and interpersonal skills who are comfortable leading family learning activities are also encouraged to apply.
  • A genuine interest in early childhood development, family engagement, and helping create positive experiences for children and caregivers.
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep daily operations running smoothly.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and follow‑through in maintaining records, preparing documents, and completing administrative tasks.
