Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serves as a specialist in the healthcare simulation modality, applying standards of programmatic excellence, and providing technical support for simulation operations in both laboratory and in situ settings.
  • Utilizes a structured program framework to coordinate, plan, implement, monitor, and improve simulation program activities and services.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Essential: stooping/bending, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting usual weigh of 10 pounds up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent: standing, walking, reaching at and below shoulder level, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object.
  • Occasional: sitting, twisting body, kneeling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, pushing/pulling usual weigh of 10 pounds up to 25 pounds, carrying usual weigh of 5 pounds, reaching above shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions.
  • Operates a computer, typewriter, calculator, copier, facsimile, and telephone.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
  • Bachelor's degree in health sciences, healthcare simulation, education, business or related field.
  • Master’s degree in education or healthcare simulation preferred.
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator or Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist certification preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE:
  • Three (3) years of simulation experience in an academic and/or clinical setting.
  • Prior experience in designing, implementing and evaluating simulation activities.
  • Experience to demonstrate the following:
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all organizational levels, and provide accurate interpretation and instruction on programs, policies and procedures.
    • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels throughout the organization.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM and ELM preferred.
  • Knowledge of EPIC preferred.
