The role reports to the Assistant Superintendent and focuses on reporting, data analysis, and cross-functional coordination to advance school improvement and instructional reform initiatives.

Qualifications

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Supports implementation of district initiatives through collaboration with Assistant Superintendents, district-level coordinators, principals, leadership teams, and other district staff. Assists with the development and monitoring of programs that promote research-based pedagogical best practices and yield high levels of achievement. Reports to the Assistant Superintendent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages the execution of the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan, assessing the outcomes and making decisions for next steps based on the analysis of levels of implementation and student outcomes. Continually works cross-functionally with schools, central office departments, and key external partners.

  • Completes school profiles and supports plans based on various data sources
  • Reviews School Improvement and Title I plans and provides feedback to ensure alignment to CCPS Strategic and Academic Achievement Plan
  • Monitors frequently the implementation of performance targets outlined in the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan
  • Plans next steps with schools based on analysis of implementation and various student outcomes
  • Serves on various district and school level committees as assigned
  • Provides intensive support to Priority and Focus Schools

Leads the strategic planning process for various instructional reform initiatives in collaboration with schools, areas levels, central office, parents and communities with the use of system-wide student data.

  • Assists school administrators with strategic planning utilizing the CCPS Strategic and Academic Achievement Plans
  • Reviews CCPS Strategic and Academic Achievement Plans with administrators and staff to plan strategically
  • Monitors and supports implementation of Comprehensive School Improvement Plans
  • Reviews Professional Development Plans and aligns to the data
  • Assesses school level professional development plans to determine if they meet teachers’ needs based on root cause analysis
  • Ensures ongoing progress toward identified school goals and objectives, regularly collects and analyzes school data to determine progress in affecting student achievement

Supports and informs the delivery of instruction in schools to create a rigorous, relevant, and engaging instructional program through targeted support focused on high levels of student achievement.

  • Supports and monitors effective implementation of the effective instruction and comprehensive standards-based lesson planning and provides the principal with immediate feedback.
  • Supports and monitors effective lesson plan feedback to teachers
  • Plans with school administrators and staff to provide the instructional supports needed to increase student academic growth
  • Provides professional development at the school level based on the identified action steps in the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan and instructional walk-through results.
  • Participates in school-wide instructional focus walks and assists the school personnel in developing a plan of action to address deficient areas.

Assists with the development and oversight of the implementation of innovative solutions to meet educational challenges.

  • Assists school-level leadership with the implementation of the school system’s curriculum standards, assessment program, instructional program, and professional learning program.
  • Monitors district innovative practices as outlined in the Academic Achievement Plan, Strategic Plan and other service programs (Read 180, Language, SRA, PBIS, etc.)
  • Assists schools with developing and implementing innovative solutions to their unique challenges based on CCRPI data and other student outcomes data

Serves on School Improvement Team; participates in professional development and networking activities. Serves and supports school level leadership teams

  • Serves on various district level leadership committees as assigned
  • Attends various district level meetings
  • Attends and participates in professional development session

All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services

  • Completes any other administrative assignments designated by the Superintendent that are not currently assigned to an existing job description or that are likely to be one-time occurrences.
  • Participates in Cross-Functional Team meetings
  • Serves as office of response (as needed) to assist with issues and unresolved matters that originate at the school level.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree in education field required.

Requires a minimum of three years teaching experience in an educational environment and serving on District-level reform teams and/or initiatives.

Georgia Professional Certification at a Level 5 or higher in Education Leadership.

Decision Making: Analytical; supervisor is available to review established broad objectives; independent judgment is required to review and approve major recommendations.

Requires regular, frequent contact with internal and external personnel of influence and decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance; occasionally requires contact with officials at higher levels. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with inter-organizational teams.

Oversees multiple aspects of district-level initiatives with a high-level accountability for effective operation and results.

Applies, recommends and implements technology concepts to improve the effectiveness of district-level initiatives.

Responsibility for the Welfare of Others:Constant (Daily) - to exercise the duty of care and protection of the health, safety, security, welfare, well-being, and best interests of the district's various stakeholders.

Normal office setting.

Requires frequent travel to off-site training locations and school site visits.

Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying; twenty (20) lbs. or less.

NOTE:This is a Grade 30, 225-day position with a salary range of $80,071 - $123,882. Final salary placement within this range is determined based on individual credentials, years of relevant experience, and the guidelines outlined in the CCPS Compensation Handbook found here .
