Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Coordinator, Residential Community to oversee housing staff and ensure high-quality student living experiences. You will supervise staff, enforce policies, and coordinate services to support resident welfare.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related or applicable field.
  • Two years’ experience in Residence Life or Student Affairs.
  • Knowledge of residence housing best practices and procedures.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good supervisory and strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with ability to deliver housing services to a diverse student population.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and solve problems.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and trains residential staff in operations, crisis management and safety standards.
  • Promotes a safe and comfortable living environment for residents.
  • Enforces policies and regulations in the residential community.
  • Reports incidents, injuries, illnesses, and policy violations to the Housing Office.
  • Conducts daily and weekly building inspections and reports damages.
  • Plans and facilitates activities to help residents grow and connect.
  • Coordinates cleaning and repairs of resident halls with maintenance and custodial staff.
  • Maintains room rosters and condition reports for residents.
  • Conducts new resident orientations and explains due process rights.
  • Serves as a referral agent to Counseling Center and Academic Center.
  • Acts as liaison for students at administrative staff meetings.

Job Title

Coordinator, Residential Community


Essential Job Functions


  • Supervises and trains residential community staff in theoperational procedures, crisis management, health and safety issuesand standards of the residential communities

  • Promotes a safe and comfortable living environment for allresidents

  • Enforces Residential Life and University policies, rules andregulations in the residential community.

  • Reports incidents, injuries/illnesses and policy violations tothe Housing Office

  • Conducts daily and weekly building inspections and reportsdamages through the established forms

  • Plans and facilitates activities to help residents grow andconnect

  • Coordinates cleaning and repairs of resident hall withmaintenance and custodial supervisors. Provides lock-out andemergency assistance to residents.

  • Maintains current and accurate room rosters and conditionreports for each resident; ensures proper procedures are followedwhen residents check in, changes rooms or moves out.

  • Conducts new resident orientation and advises students of theirright to due process under the University’s Judicial ReviewProcess

  • Serve as a referral agent to other campus resources such as theCounseling Center and Academic Center

  • Acts as liaison for students of residential communities atadministrative staff meetings to provide student input.


Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in a related or applicable field

Two (2) years’ experience in Residence Life or StudentAffairs
