Job summary

Shiseido Americas Distribution Center in Groveport, OH, seeks a Quality Coordinator to join the Quality External Operations Group. Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, you will ensure compliance with cGMP and company policies and oversee inspection and batch record review of cosmetic and OTC products produced at contract manufacturers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of quality control experience, preferably cosmetics or FMCG with exposure to FDA and cGMP Regulations.
• Two-year Associate degree in science or technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
• ASQ CQI certification is highly desired.
• Knowledge of basic math and statistics.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Hands-on experience with basic measuring equipment.
• Basic knowledge of MS-Office suite.
• Ability to stand, lift, and walk during shift.

Responsibilities

• Support department and organizational goals and objectives.
• Perform required review and systemic release or reject for contract manufacturer products.
• Log and label standard samples and coordinate with CM teams to obtain standards.
• Maintain CofA documents and ensure missing documents are acquired.
• Coordinate and schedule contract manufacturing workload with External Operations Planning and New Product Development.
• Investigate customer complaints with the Quality team.
• Utilize statistical sampling tools per ISO 2859, ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, or SOP.
• Train others on test procedures and work instructions.
• Complete all other duties as required.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is part of the Quality External Operations Group. Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Quality Coordinator ensures compliance with cGMP and company policies, procedures, and specifications.

This position is responsible for overseeing the inspection and batch record review of Shiseido cosmetic and OTC products produced at contract manufacturers, and quality system functions in accordance with cGMP and any related company SOP’s and FDA regulations.

The Quality Coordinator is responsible for supporting the quality inspectors to ensure accurate documentation of all finished and semi-finished parts that are made at contract manufacturers. This position is responsible for maintaining inspection documentation, certificate of analysis and standards. Daily and monthly reporting.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• You will support department and organizational goals and objectives.
• You will perform required review and systemic release or reject for contract manufacturer product.
• You will log and label standard samples, Work with appropriate CM teams to acquire needed standards.
• You will file and maintain CofA documents received from CM Vendors. Work with appropriate CM teams to acquire missing documents.
• You will coordinate and schedule contract manufacturing workload with External Operations Planning department and New Product Development.
• You will work with the Quality team to investigate customer complaints.
• You will use statistical sampling tools such as ISO 2859, ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, or per company's SOP.
• You will conduct training to others (both internal and external) to ensure test procedures and work instructions are understood and applied correctly.
• You will complete all other duties as required and requested.

WHO YOU ARE

• You have a minimum 1-year experience in Quality control environment preferably in cosmetics or FMCG with exposure to FDA and cGMP regulations.
• You have completed two-year Associates degree in science or technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
• ASQ - Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) is highly desired
• You have knowledge in basic math and statistics.
• You can read and interpret specifications and drawings.
• You have hands-on experience with basic measuring equipment.
• You have basic knowledge of MS-Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
• You can lift, stand or walk constantly all shift as needed.
• You have strong communication and interpersonal skills within all levels of the organization.
• You can handle large volumes of work and change priorities as needed.
• You can work independently, requiring minimum supervisory direction.
• You take initiative and self-motivated.

The hourly rate for this position may vary based on geographic location. Pay is based on several factors including knowledge, education, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, we may offer additional forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package, including a full range of benefits.
