Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of surgical supplies and implants for the OR.
• Coordinate supply ordering, stocking, and distribution.
• Collaborate with nursing leaders, staff, and vendors to ensure product availability.
• Remove expired, damaged, or recalled items promptly.
• Maintain PAR levels and inventory accuracy using data.
• Track implants with the UDI tracker.
• Review OR booking sheets to plan procurement.
• Process Bill‑Only and STAT requisitions within timeframes.
• Resolve back orders with approved substitutes or replacements.
• Conduct inventory audits and rounding.
• Support emergency supply requests and replenishment needs.
• Maintain compliance with policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Salary: $45,760.00 - $64,064.00 per year

Job Overview

Hospital operating room (OR) supply chain coordinators, including titles of buyer, OR coordinator, and perioperative coordinator manage the procurement, inventory, replenishment and tracking of supplies and inventory needed for surgical procedures. The role focuses on ensuring the OR is fully stocked, cost‑efficient, compliant, and prepared for daily surgeries without delay.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of surgical supplies and implants, coordinate supply ordering, stocking, and distribution for the OR.
• Collaborate with nursing leaders, staff, and vendors to ensure product availability.
• Ensure expired, damaged, or recalled items are removed and managed promptly.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations; analyze usage trends to reduce waste and improve efficiency; maintain accurate inventory and PAR levels in PeopleSoft using data to drive PARs.
• Manage and track implants using the UDI tracker.
• Review OR booking sheets and plan supply procurement accordingly.
• Process Bill‑Only requisitions within established time frame; monitor STAT requisitions to avoid increased cost.
• Resolve back orders and shortages by collaborating with clinical team for clinically approved substitutes or replacements.
• Conduct documented inventory audits and rounding.
• Support emergency supply requests and replenishment needs.
• Maintain compliance with hospital and department policies, safety standards, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two to three years of hospital supply chain operations.
