The Coordinator of Youth Ministry plays a pivotal role advancing our mission by fostering spiritual growth, community engagement, and outreach to the parish’s young people from 6th through 12th grades. This position requires an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who can lead with care, organizational acumen, and a deep commitment to the Catholic faith and values.

Responsibilities

Catechesis

• Support middle school and Confirmation catechists to ensure a bridge between faith formation and youth ministry programs for young parishioners.
• Collaborate with Director of Faith Formation to recruit, train, and retain volunteer catechists for middle school and Confirmation levels. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
• Collaborate with the Director of Faith Formation to create and maintain a comprehensive calendar for elementary catechesis and sacrament preparation.

Youth Ministry

• Provide oversight to youth programs, ensuring alignment with Church teachings and mission.
• Create youth ministry programs, retreats, and events that provide youth opportunities to explore, learn, and grow in their faith.
• Establish a calendar of youth ministry events.
• Recruit, train and develop a youth leadership team to assist with the creation, planning, and implementation of youth gatherings, retreats, and events.
• Prepare and coordinate publishing content for various communication platforms, sharing important announcements, events, and spiritual reflections related to youth ministry within the parish community.
• Create a visible presence and deliver outreach opportunities that provide youth engagement within the wider parish community.
• Engage families and the parish community to support the various youth activities of the parish.
• Develop a content calendar for outreach efforts, ensuring consistent messaging across platforms.
• Promote and facilitate vocational discernment.

Mission

• Embrace the mission of our Church by actively serving and connecting with our parishioners and the broader community.
• Work closely with other church staff and volunteers to integrate outreach efforts seamlessly into the wider parish and diocesan communities.
• Provide support and ensure that all adults and volunteers have completed the requirements of the Safe Environment program.
• This position requires a part-time commitment. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to working with youth in a faith environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in ministry or a related field preferred.
• Must complete a background check and ongoing Safe Environment training.
• Attendance at the annual Safe Environment conference is required.
• Ability to travel occasionally to off-site events and to work on weekends.
