Job summary

Pilgrim's is seeking a Coordinator of Operational Excellence at the Enterprise, Alabama complex to drive continuous improvement across live operations and processing plants. You will coordinate with safety, HR, QA, engineering, and operations teams to deliver measurable gains.

You will implement Management Pillar tools, teach processes, and support sharing best practices throughout the network. Travel and relocation may be required to support multiple Pilgrim's locations.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Science, or Business preferred.
• 2–5 years of manufacturing experience (poultry preferred).
• At least 1 year experience with Pilgrim's.
• Willingness to relocate and travel as needed.
• Ability to work varied shifts and hours.
• Desire for career growth and alignment with Pilgrim's Vision and Values.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred.

COORDINATOR OF OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

Position Summary

This position is responsible for directing projects and initiatives at the Processing Plant and Live Operations across the complex located in Enterprise, Alabama, by working closely with the operations teams as well as support departments including but not limited to safety, human resources, food safety and quality assurance, engineering, plant operations personnel, live operations and upper management. Responsibility

• Lives and reinforces Safety as a condition in all activities.
• Leads assigned facility’s Management Method efforts by functioning as a business partner with each Pillar owner.
• Responsible for proactively working with facility management to identify and assess KPI gaps, and lead continuous improvement projects using Operational Excellence methodologies.
• Develop and manage process improvements for achieving measurable efficiency, cost reduction, variation reduction, flow optimization or performance improvement gains.
• Co-own the Management Pillar implementation by teaching all its tools, training personnel, serving as support and continuously improving the material to support the location.
• Demonstrates ownership of core tools:
  • 6S
  • Writing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures
  • Statistical Process Control
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Kaizen Events
  • Labor Management
• Update and analyze key metrics for the assigned complex or business unit.
• Leads self-assessment activities for Management Method.
• Develop and train process owners with methods for continuous improvement and control as new processes are implemented.
• Support with working knowledge of labor standards principles, time studies and labor reports, and facilitate the sharing of best practices throughout the company network.
• In conjunction with the other members of the Operational Excellence management team, participate of meetings as required.

Education

Undergraduate Degree, (Prefer Engineering, Science, or Business focus)

Experience

• 2 - 5 years manufacturing industry experience (preferably in poultry)
• At least 1 year in Pilgrim's
• Background in ZBB or production
• Willingness to relocate
• Availability to travel to learn and/or support in other Pilgrim's locations.
• Ability to work any hours as needed, flexible to work various shifts
• Desire for career advancement and growth within the organization, while maintaining commitmenttothe Vision and Values
