• Create an annual career readiness and life skills education calendar that incorporates existing and related cross-campus programs.
• Assist with the education and dispersion of the Spartan Ready® Assessment to understand programmatic impact on students across campus.
• Oversee Discover UTampa Leadership Program (an early orientation program) and other leadership programs.
• Oversee the implementation of Spartan Ready®-focused experiences and programs designed to help students self-identify, develop, and discover Spartan Ready® Competencies.
• Implement the software used to understand the impact of on-campus student employment and other experiences on the development of Spartan Ready® Competencies.

Position Details

The Coordinator of Leadership and Competency Development is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and assessing programs, resources, and initiatives that support student leadership development, career readiness, and competency-based learning. This position collaborates with campus partners to advance the University’s Spartan Ready® initiative by promoting the development of professional competencies and life skills that prepare students for success in their careers, communities, and continued personal growth. The coordinator facilitates student engagement opportunities, supports competency assessment efforts, provides leadership development programming, and contributes to a campus-wide culture that fosters student learning, well-being, retention, and success. As a member of Student Affairs, this position supports the division’s strategic priorities and the University’s mission by helping students develop as engaged citizens, effective leaders, and career‑ready professionals.
