Job summary

Astor Services' Roots to Resilience program seeks a licensed clinician to support youth and young adults aged 12–26 at risk or involved with the juvenile justice system in the Bronx. You will deliver clinical assessment, treatment, and care coordination using a strengths-based approach within family-centered care.

Description

Astor's Roots to Resilience program is seeking a clinician to support youth and young adults ages 12-26 who are at risk of or involved in the juvenile justice system. Using a strengths-based, family-centered approach, this role helps access behavioral health services, strengthen support systems, and create pathways to long-term success.

This is an ideal opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about community engagement and youth advocacy. The clinician will serve as an ambassador for both the Roots to Resilience program and Astor Services as a whole, building relationships throughout the Bronx and increasing awareness of available supports for youth and families.

Requirements:
  • Empower youth and families through clinical assessment, treatment, care coordination, and supportive services, including mental health screenings, risk assessments, treatment planning, and short-term therapeutic interventions.
  • Connect youth to opportunities for success by building strong partnerships with Probation, OASAS, behavioral health providers, schools, courts, and community organizations throughout the Bronx.
  • Promote positive outcomes by monitoring treatment engagement, educational stability, school attendance, and reduced juvenile justice involvement, while providing follow-up support after discharge.
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care utilizing approaches while demonstrating competency in DSM diagnoses, mental status examinations, and high-risk client assessment and intervention.
  • Collaborate and lead across systems by working closely with multidisciplinary teams and providing consultation to clinicians, community partners, and families to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for Roots to Resilience and Astor Services, representing the program with enthusiasm and professionalism in juvenile courts, community events, outreach initiatives, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Engage with the community where it matters most, maintaining a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends to support court appearances, outreach activities, and special events.
  • Support program excellence through timely documentation, data collection, monthly reporting, and compliance with all contract and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience working with adolescents, families, and court-involved or high-risk youth preferred.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and community engagement skills.
  • Passion for youth advocacy, prevention, and helping young people recognize their strengths and build resilience.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable professional who can effectively represent both the program and agency within the community.
  • Master's Level Clinician - full licensure preferred.
  • Knowledge of DSM diagnoses, behavioral health treatment, and evidence-based interventions - TF-CBT and DBT preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
