  • Participate in planning and execution of Family Weekend.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Coordinator of New Student and Family Programs is a full-time professional in the Office of New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) within the Division of Student Affairs. This position is responsible for educating and engaging students and families in a successful transition to Towson University. This position coordinates the Orientation Leader, First Year Experience Leader, returning student leader, and Undergraduate Intern recruiting, hiring, training, and supervision as well as the coordination of any affiliated student leadership programs. The responsibilities of this position also include program development, event management, administrative support, and assessment of orientation and transition programs. This position will report to the Assistant Director of New Student and Family Programs.

Responsibilities And Duties
  • Provide leadership, direction, and coordination for all student leader functions in the NSFP area. This person will recruit, train, supervise, advise, and mentor undergraduate student staff including but not limited to Orientation Leaders and First Year Experience Leaders.
  • Develop curriculum and training for advanced student leaders. Responsible for the planning and implementation of the Undergraduate Intern and returning student staff member programs.
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, supervision and training of returning staff members, in addition to managing the recruitment, training and direct supervision of two undergraduate interns.
  • Support the planning and execution of the one-day student and family orientation programs, Welcome to TU, and the 4-day orientation prior to the start of the semester. This includes curriculum design, collaboration with campus partners, specifically in Undergraduate Admissions and Academic Advising, assessment, and program logistics.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of Family Weekend.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The work hours for this position will include evenings and weekends on an occasional basis.

Telework may be available for this position up to two days per week following the completion of 90 days of service in good standing.

  • Master’s degree in higher education, counseling or a related field
  • Previous experience working with student orientation, transfer programs, academic advising, and/or undergraduate admission
Salary and Benefits

Targeted hiring range is $54,000-$57,000 and full university benefits that include 22 days of annual leave, up to 17 holidays, personal and sick days; excellent health, life, and retirement plans; and tuition remission.
