Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Process outbound shipments and coordinate with internal/external customers.
  • Enter data accurately and process paperwork for shipments.
  • Produce production control reports and spreadsheets as needed.
  • Assist in pickup, packing, and loading of materials.
  • Support warehouse picking and material storage operations.
  • Assist in forklift-related tasks and drive as needed.
  • Follow quality and safety requirements and assist training of teammates.

Job description

Position Summary

The Materials Coordinator will perform a variety of duties related to warehousing and outbound shipping. With minimal supervision, a successful Materials Coordinator will manage inventory, pick, process and ship material per shipping schedule. The Materials Coordinator will be highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, IFS and other pertinent programs. The best Materials Coordinator is self-motivated and a natural trouble shooter who can react quickly under pressure and manage several tasks concurrently. Accuracy and confidentiality are important factors.



Key Responsibilities


  • Facilitate and Execute Outbound Shipment Processing: The Materials Coordinator processes all outbound shipments for both internal and external customers through HUSCO ERP system (IFS). The Materials Coordinator will follow customer-specific requirements through current processes and help establish processes for new customers. Scheduling of regular outbound shipments and coordinating expedited shipments will be required.

  • Quickly and Accurately Complete Data Entry of Various Information: With minimal supervision, the Materials Coordinator will process all outbound shipments, send return dunnage with proper paperwork to customers and suppliers, process internal stores requisitions, and assist in scrap and MRO purchases on an as needed basis.

  • Prepare Production Control Reports and Spreadsheets: Generate necessary reports on an as-needed basis. These include monitoring backflush to ensure correct inventory in locations, compiling weekly pick lists for Inventory Control, review receiving prior day and shipping reports, and assist with cycle count, finished goods counts, and WIP count spreadsheets and counting as needed.

  • Assist in shipment preparation and picking functions: Prepare, load, unload, and organize finished goods and raw materials around the plant as needed.

  • Assist in Warehouse picking & storage for secondary plant.

  • Assist in driving, loading, unloading Box truck from intercompany truck runs.

  • Assist in unloading as well as receiving inventory into HUSCO ERP system on an as needed basis.

  • Meet all quality and safety requirements of the company and industry.

  • Assist in training additional team members upon gaining own experience in role.



Requirements


  • Requires High School diploma, Associate’s Degree preferred; administrative training with 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing facility.

  • Working knowledge of TS16949/ ISO 9000 preferred.

  • Skill emphasis on:

  • Data Entry

  • Accurate typing/computer data entry with above average attention to detail.

  • Effective time-management and organizational skills.

  • Exhibit good judgment, common sense, leadership, decision making skills and abilities, as well as possess effective interpersonal skills and training abilities.

  • Must be flexible and able to handle multiple of varied tasks that contribute directly to the effectiveness and quality of the company and all employees.

  • Valid drivers license

  • Will need ability to want and learn forklift.

  • Prior forklift experience is encouraged but not mandatory

  • Additional duties may be required as assigned.

  • Proficient in box truck backing and docking or willingness to learn.



PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES


  • In a standard workday this person will work in both shop and office environments and required to drive 30%, sit 30%, stand or walk 30%, squat, kneel, or twist 8%, and drive to run errands 2%.

  • This individual will be required to lift materials purchased weighing up to 50 lbs. at times.

  • Repetitive use of the hands as to fine manipulation/dexterity will be required for use of PC Work and other office equipment, data input, writing, manipulation of \"mouse\" and phone dialing. Phone duties require: clear and audible speech.

  • Visual requirements include excellent number and depth perception, strong reading abilities, ability to read computer printouts and computer spreadsheet applications.

  • Overtime will be as required.

  • Total awareness of the plant environment as it pertains to the safety of other employees, operation of equipment, handling of equipment/materials, and visitors is required.
