Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Tampa, FL is seeking a Logistics Administrator to assist the Logistics Manager in daily inbound freight operations, negotiating costs and maintaining service levels. You will help control inbound freight spend and support overall supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities include generating period-end revenue reports, identifying backhaul revenue opportunities, scheduling contract carriage, monitoring deliveries, and coordinating with accounting to reconcile vendor

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 1 year of logistics/transportation administrative support experience.

Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting the Logistics Manager in effectively managing the entire daily operations of inbound logistics in order to acquire control of inbound freight at less than delivered price to enhance bottom line income for the company. Solves freight problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where some standardization exists. Analyzes work-related situations and make decisions in an effective and timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Position Responsibilities:

• Work with Logistics Manager to negotiate lowest freight costs without reducing service level.
• Generate period-end revenue report.
• Identify backhaul pickups that do not meet the minimum requirement for revenue.
• Identify loads to be moved by contract carriage and schedule such move.
• Monitor accepted loads and verify that the loads were delivered on time.
• Audit carriers’ freight bills to insure they agree with carriers’ confirmations.
• Coordinate with Accounting to file vendor charge-backs to orders with volumes that have been confirmed but not shipped by managed vendor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

Required Experience: 6 - 12 Months

Logistics / transportation administrative support experience in related area.
