Summary of Position

The Coordinator, Institutional Advancement, supports Meridian's Engagement, Growth, and Partnerships division in a non-supervisory role. This position is a frontline fundraising role, providing essential operational and fundraising support for special events, galas, and an individual giving/donor engagement membership program. Key responsibilities include fundraising outreach, event logistics support and coordination, donor database management, donor research, and drafting of fundraising and event collateral. A detail-oriented, service-minded approach and enthusiasm for relationship-centered fundraising are essential. This position is located in Washington, D.C. Meridian requires MD, DC, or VA residence for all employees. The position may work partially remotely until further notice.

Fundraising Support
  • Serve as frontline fundraiser for special events such as the Meridian Ball and Culturefix, including prospect list management, outreach tracking, and personal fundraising via emails, calls, and meetings
  • Support moves management at all stages of gifts including donor identification, cultivation, asks, gift closing, and stewardship
  • Maintain and update gift trackers; monitor pledge fulfillment timelines and flag outstanding commitments
  • Assist in drafting fundraising materials including sponsorship packets, invitations, and event-related correspondence
  • Track event donations and associated details (e.g., seating assignments, dietary preferences, recognition listings)
  • Conduct donor research and compile background briefs to support senior staff ahead of donor meetings
  • Support stewardship of Meridian Council members through timely communications, event invitations, and engagement tracking
  • Draft acknowledgment notes, thank-you letters, and routine correspondence on behalf of senior leadership
Fundraising Event/Program Support
  • Assist in producing donor engagement programs for the Meridian Council; support speaker coordination logistics including invitation tracking and scheduling
  • Provide logistical support for special donor events (lunches, dinners, salons, holiday gatherings) across the U.S., and assist with international programming including Global Insights delegations and related donor travel experiences
  • Build and maintain event campaigns in Salesforce; manage Splash registration pages, track RSVPs, and support attendee communications
  • Assist in developing event content for invitations, newsletters, websites, and follow-up communications
  • Staff all Institutional Advancement events from setup through cleanup; assist with other Engagement, Growth, and Partnerships events as assigned

  • Complete all organizational administrative responsibilities in a timely manner and meet all organizational deadlines

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree1-3 years of related experience in frontline fundraising, event coordination, and nonprofit administrationOr any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position

Technical Requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams is necessary for this role
  • Experience with a CRM is required; experience with Salesforce is preferred
  • Experience with third party Salesforce applications such as Pardot, Spash, and iWave, preferred
