Job summary

Lone Star College in The Woodlands, TX is seeking a Coordinator III, Communications and Publications to manage publication production timelines, coordinate content for communications channels, and collaborate with designers, developers, and internal partners to ensure accurate, timely, and high‑quality materials promoting student success.

This role requires a bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of related experience; preferred background includes marketing, journalism, and Adobe Creative Suite

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of experience or more preferred.
  • Experience in marketing, journalism, or communications is a plus.
  • Experience with publication production processes and vendor management is desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate with designers and developers.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate content for designated communication channels and publications.
  • Serve as production coordinator for assigned publications, managing workflows between content owners, designers, developers, and LSCS administration.
  • Work with outside vendors to obtain print and mail quotes and oversee timelines and quality of publications.
  • Maintain compliance with USPS regulations and manage LSCS mailing permits and privileges.
  • Collect, compile, and maintain production databases including costs, timelines, and specs.
  • Provide creative input on design, layout, and presentation in collaboration with graphic designers and digital teams.
  • Design and develop publications using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to prepare content for publication.
  • Manage multiple deadlines; prioritize work effectively.

Job Description
Purpose and Scope

The Coordinator III, Communications and Publications supports thedelivery of communications and publications that keep faculty,staff, students, and the community informed about Lone Star CollegeSystem. This role is responsible for coordinating content forcommunications channels, managing publication production timelines,and working with vendors, designers, and internal partners toensure accurate, timely, and high-quality communications thatpromote collaboration and the college's mission of studentsuccess.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Coordinates and manages content for designated communicationchannels and publications, ensuring timely updates and consistentmessaging
  2. Serves as the production coordinator for assigned publications,managing workflows between content owners, designers, developers,and LSCS administration
  3. Works with outside vendors to obtain print and mail quotes,manage production timelines, and oversee quality and distributionof publications
  4. Maintains compliance with US Postal Service regulations andmanages LSCS mailing permits and privileges
  5. Collects, compiles, and maintains production databasesincluding project costs, bid reports, timelines, designspecifications, distribution lists, and final files
  6. Provides creative input on the design, layout, and presentationof communication materials in collaboration with graphic designersand digital teams
  7. Designs and develops publications utilizing Adobe CreativeSuite.
  8. Collaborates with internal partners to gather, review, andprepare content for publication
  9. Manages multiple publication deadlines simultaneously, usingindependent judgment to prioritize work effectively
  10. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties asassigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong skills with Adobe Creative Suite programs such asInDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills with theability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strongattention to detail
  • Skills and knowledge of publication production processes, printvendor management, and postal regulations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, developers,administrators, and external vendors.
  • Ability to maintain production databases and tracking projectcosts, timelines, and specifications
  • Knowledge of digital communication platforms and contentcoordination workflows
Physical Abilities

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required toperform the work.

Work Schedule and Conditions
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in aMicrosoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other generaloffice equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimalexposure to safety hazards
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of experience, or anequivalent combination of education and experience

Salary

Hiring salary range is: $48,152 - $55,375

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all postedfull-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fallin that range is determined by your related experience andeducation.
