Florida Gulf Coast University is seeking a Coordinator II for Facility Operations and Membership Sales to manage day-to-day operations of recreation facilities, rentals, and memberships. Job Summary The Coordinator II, Facility Operations and Membership Sales coordinates the day-to-day operations of recreation facilities, rentals, maintenance and both University Recreation & Wellness Center (URWC) and Aquatic Center memberships. The position supports facility readiness and operational excellence through preventative maintenance coordination, student staff leadership and development, membership operations, and high-quality customer service. This position requires either six years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Hospitality Management, Recreation, Sports Administration or closely related field and two years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions. Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications or able to obtain within three months of employment. Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Experience scheduling and supervising the work of student employees. Valid driver's license. Requires early morning, evening, and weekend hours depending on the University Recreation & Wellness needs and program activities.
Master's degree from an accredited institution in Recreation Management, Sports Administration, or closely related field. Two years full-time professional experience in higher education campus recreation related to the position. Experience scheduling and supervising the work of student employees. Experience and proficiency with recreation management software, such as Innosoft Fusion, CSI, or similar.
Proven ability to think strategically and approach challenges with creativity. Demonstrated track record of reliability, meeting goals, and holding oneself accountable. Strong interpersonal skills and experience working effectively across teams. Knowledge of recreation, intramural sports, and fitness programming. Knowledge of risk management standards and practices. Knowledge of inventory control principles and methods. Knowledge of marketing principles including promotion, fundraising, and public relations. Knowledge of budget control principles, practices, and procedures. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects. Demonstrated skill with scheduling, event planning, and logistics coordination. Ability to interact in a professional manner with colleagues, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment. Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision. Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations when numerous and competing demands are involved. Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures consistently. Ability to effectively manage the work of others by providing information, guidance, and motivation. Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as necessary.
