Job summary

FGCU seeks a Coordinator II, Facility Operations and Membership Sales, to coordinate day-to-day facility operations, rentals, maintenance, and multiple center memberships. You will lead student staff, oversee membership sales, and drive data-driven program improvements.

The role requires managing budgets, coordinating preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety and readiness across URWC and Aquatics Center facilities. Early mornings, evenings, and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

  • Requires either six years of directly related full-time experience or a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Recreation, Sports Administration or closely related field plus two years of full-time related experience.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications or ability to obtain within three months of employment.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Experience scheduling and supervising the work of student employees.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Requires early morning, evening, and weekend hours depending on needs and activities.

Job Summary

The Coordinator II, Facility Operations and Membership Sales coordinates the day-to-day operations of recreation facilities, rentals, maintenance and both University Recreation & Wellness Center (URWC) and Aquatic Center memberships. The position supports facility readiness and operational excellence through preventative maintenance coordination, student staff leadership and development, membership operations, and high-quality customer service.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates assigned day-to-day facility operations to support safe, efficient, and customer focused University Recreation & Wellness services.
  • Develops, plans and implements trainings, programs, meetings, and activities within area of responsibility.
  • Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates student staff supporting facility operations and membership services.
  • Oversees all membership sales, customer support, promotions and billing for both URWC and Aquatics Center memberships.
  • Collects and analyzes data to assess and evaluate programs and initiatives.
  • Assists with budget monitoring and planning of Facility Operations budgets.
  • Conducts regular safety and readiness inspections of facilities and equipment and coordinates preventive maintenance, submits work orders, and ensures timely repair follow-up.
  • Assists with the development, implementation, evaluation, and compliance of risk management procedures.
  • Assists with planning and scheduling of university and community reservations held within University Recreation & Wellness assigned facilities.
  • Assists with purchasing and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Monitors expenditures, researches purchase options, and creates requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Assists with various special event programs for department
  • Assists in establishing and implementing policies and procedures for assigned facilities, staff, membership services, and customer support.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in Recreation Management, Sports Administration, or closely related field.

  • Experience scheduling and supervising the work of student employees.
  • Experience and proficiency with recreation management software, such as Innosoft Fusion, CSI, or similar.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects.
  • Demonstrated skill with scheduling, event planning, and logistics coordination.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with colleagues, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.
