The Histology Mohs Lab Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Moh’s Dermatology department. The coordinator will be responsible for specimen acceptance, labeling, cutting, staining and documentation of Moh’s specimens for microscopic examination by Dermatologist or Pathologist to render diagnoses. This includes various specialized techniques and staining procedures. In partnership with the Medical Director and Technical Consultant, the coordinator assumes responsibility for meeting all regulatory requirements and ensuring operational excellence in testing.
Education: Meets the educational requirements for issuance of a NYS Histotechnician or Histotechnologist license by the NYS Office of the Professions.
License: NYS Histotechnician or Histotechnologist license required. Alternatively, a NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license, NYS Cytotechnologist license, or NYS Clinical Laboratory Technician license will be accepted.
Certification: Certification as a Histotechnician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) (HT) or ASCPi (HT) is preferred.
Histology experience required. Previous Mohs experience preferred. Experience with NYDOH and CLIA regulations preferred.
The pay range for this position is $29.62 - $46.69 per hour.
