Job summary

University of South Carolina is seeking a Coordinator for Chapter Services to advise fraternities and sororities, manage chapter programming, and support student leadership development. The role focuses on building an inclusive Greek community and coordinating with campus and national partners.

The position involves guiding council activities, coaching chapters, and implementing educational programs that prepare students for post-graduate success.

Qualifications

  • Membership in a Greek organization is strongly preferred.
  • Master's degree in higher education or related field and/or experience in curriculum or program development, fraternity/sorority operations, advisement, publications, and computer skills are strongly preferred.
  • Fraternity/sorority leadership consultant experience or experience at a national headquarters office is strongly preferred.

  • Attend regular meetings for the council(s) and provide strategic guidance on budgets and finances.

  • Train and oversee student leaders in maintaining membership and academic records and renewal/registration processes.

The Coordinator for Chapter Services is responsible for student advisement, educational programming, and chapter management for fraternities and sororities at the University of South Carolina. This role ensures the development of transformative leaders and allows opportunities for students to participate beyond the classroom activities. This position will actively contribute to the rich, vibrant, and inclusive living and learning experience for all members of the Greek community.

Primary Duties Include:
  • Serve as the primary advisor to at least one governing council, oversee their recruitment/intake processes, orientation, and new member education. Attend regular meetings for the council(s). Provide strategic guidance and advisement on council budgets and finances.
  • Serve as the primary advisor to a cohort of chapters through the chapter coaching model. Serve as a liaison for the University when working with local/regional/state advisors and national headquarters staff.
  • Support leadership and harm reduction programming initiatives. Recruit, market, and facilitate an emerging leaders program for the f/s community.
  • Train and oversee student leaders in maintaining membership and academic records, including but not limited to renewal/registration process, chapter roster changes that impact other financial and academic processes, and Beyond The Classroom Matters programs.
  • Implement community-wide education, programming, and assessment efforts that support the development of skills that help student leaders prepare for a successful transition to the job field after graduation.

  • Ability to interpret and apply policy and procedure as it applies to program coordination and implementation.
  • Coordinate multiple high level tasks simultaneously with high degree of attention to detail.
