Job summary

STARZ is seeking a Coordinator, Events in Los Angeles to support planning and execution of in-person and virtual events, screenings, and festivals within Publicity, Awards & Events. You will collaborate with Corporate Communications, Marketing, Distribution and HR to ensure seamless events across the business.

The role requires strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects, and willingness to work nights and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Communications or similar field preferred.
  • At least 2+ years of event planning experience, preferably within the entertainment industry.
  • Ability to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to adapt.
  • Ability to collaborate well with others and take direction while also being able to work well independently.
  • Proactive problem-solver who anticipates needs and stays ahead of deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Sr. Manager, Events, VP, Events and the Publicity team to support department goals and event execution.
  • Assist across partner events to organize and keep event documents up to date including status reports, team calendars, production timelines, checklists, run-of-show documents, and executive memos.
  • Ensure clear, seamless and timely flow of event communication across teams and cross functional partners.
  • Manage, submit and track vendor invoices and assist in overall budget management and process administrative expenses.
  • Manage hotel room blocks and travel logistics for talent, executives and staff for events.
  • Support the Technical Director of Events with the creation, collection, and organization of screening assets.
  • Assist with identifying and requesting edited clips for screenings and events, including providing timecode references.
  • Coordinate requests for screening holding slides and ensure assets are received and organized as needed.
  • Contributes to the overall network awards planning including executing “For Your Consideration” events and communicating information to the team.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for vendors supporting PR and Awards events.
  • Assist with sourcing and executing talent gifting for birthdays, holidays, and milestones.
  • Assists in curating invite lists, following up and tracking responses.

Job Description

The Coordinator, Events is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of high-impact, in-person & virtual events, screenings and festivals at STARZ under the Publicity, Awards & Events department. This role also works cross-functionally with Corporate Communications, Marketing, Distribution, Human Resources and other internal teams to execute events across the entire business. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, tech-savvy and passionate about entertainment, events and awards. They bring a positive, can-do attitude, thrive in fast-paced environments, work well under pressure with the ability to pivot quickly and are willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. This role will be heavily involved in event logistics from building lists and managing RSVPs to managing hotel room blocks and liaising with event vendors.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Work directly with the Sr. Manager, Events, VP, Events and the Publicity team to support department goals and event execution. Provide hands-on support for large-scale red carpet premiere events, press junkets, internal events, FYC events, set visits and fan events

  • Assists across partner events such as Comic Con, Tribeca Film Festival, ATX Festival, Newfest, etc. to organize and keep event documents up to date including status reports, team calendars, production timelines, checklists, run-of-show documents, and executive memos

  • Ensure clear, seamless and timely flow of event communication across the Publicity & Events team, as well as cross functional partners

  • Manage, submit and track vendor invoices, ability to provide extreme attention to detail across all finance and accounting procedures. Assist in overall budget management and process administrative expenses

  • Manage hotel room blocks and travel logistics for talent, executives and staff for events

  • Support the Technical Director of Events with the creation, collection, and organization of screening assets, including DCPs, video clips, holding slides, and other presentation materials

  • Assist with identifying and requesting edited clips for screenings and events, including providing timecode references and submitting requests with the internal media team

  • Coordinate requests for screening holding slides and ensure assets are received and organized as needed

  • Contributes to the overall network awards planning including executing “For Your Consideration” events, representing STARZ at industry awards meetings, lotteries, informational sessions and focus groups and communicating all necessary information to the team, staying informed of awards industry trends, events, stunts and predictions

  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for vendors supporting PR and Awards events

  • Assist with sourcing and executing talent gifting for birthdays, holidays, start of production, and relevant milestones

  • Assists in curating invite lists, following up and tracking responses, and sending confirmation details

  • Mitigate errors by completing assignments thoroughly while escalating issues appropriately and maintaining high accuracy across all work

  • Stays well informed on event industry trends, new venues, and organizations

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelors degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Communications or similar field preferred

  • At least 2+ years of event planning experience, preferably within the entertainment industry

  • Ability to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to adapt

  • Ability to collaborate well with others and take direction while also being able to work well independently

  • Proactive problem-solver who anticipates needs and stays ahead of deadlines

  • Exhibits discretion, professionalism and strong situational awareness

  • Tech-savvy with comfort navigating various digital tools and platforms such as Google Workspace, Dropbox, Airtable, Screeners.com, Frame.io, and Vimeo

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Programs and Google Suite

  • Must be available for periodic travel and work nights/weekends to cover events

  • Must be thorough and a self-starter with strong organizational skills

  • Reliable and possess an eagerness to learn and deliver business results

Compensation

$50,000 - $65,000
